A hummingbird animation for fun! Made by William Lee using Photoshop CS3 and Windows Movie Maker. Enjoy!

She is slim; she sang of flowers; she never retract her landing gears; she is the little cutie hummer.

I opened both side of a can and attached it to the air hole of my subwoofer with masking tape. Stretched a piece of food wrap on top of the can. The 80Hz low frequency sound vibrated the food wrap and the liquid on the food wrap jumped up as soon as the vibration started. The liquid was milk with icing colors used in my four color crown.
The viscosity looks higher than normal in 3 of the 5 photos here because of the following possible reasons:
1. Evaporation over time - I did this project for 3 days.
2. I captured the earliest moment of the vibration.
3. Soft lighting.

The well known milk crown splashes are usually white. To make it colorful, you need to use some icing colors - the food coloring dyes. I purchased four different colors of dyes from Michaels craft store.

I also purchased the Invent-a-scent fragrance kit botanicals. Four 0.5 oz fragrance oils each & four dropper lids (made with glass) included. I just needed that four dropper lids to make my artwork easier. Well, still not easy at all because the failure rate was so high.

This was my first time playing icing colors with crown splash. It took me 4 days and about 1000 shots to finish the project. The colorful tiny splashes messed all my equipments, but icing colors can be cleaned by wiper easily.
The whole bottle of one gallon milk had been consumed for this because the colored milk turned into pink yogurt quickly and so smelly. I cleaned up and refilled the fresh milk many times.

While walking on the hiking trail in Paradise of Mt. Rainier National Park, my new friend Dennis found this lost baby bird and told me. We took many macro shots then. This baby bird kept calling its family but there was no any answer except our sounds. It looks hungry and cold but we were not allowed to feed him/she. I used off camera flash and macro lens to take pictures because it's so small.
